Skygaze India at Kunskapsskolan International School, Gurugram

Gurugram, June 5, 2025 — The night sky transformed into a live science classroom as Skygaze India hosted an interactive stargazing session at Kunskapsskolan International School, Gurugram. With over forty enthusiastic participants, the event provided students and faculty an unforgettable opportunity to observe celestial wonders up close.
Equipped with a Celestron Astromaster 102AZ and a 10-inch Dobsonian telescope, the Skygaze India team guided participants through the observation of the Moon’s craters, the glowing surface of Mars, and an array of stars. For many students, it was their very first experience of looking through a telescope — a moment of awe that turned abstract textbook concepts into living reality.
The evening was marked by joy and curiosity, with children and teachers alike marveling at the intricacies of the lunar surface and the striking red hue of Mars. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the event as inspiring and eye-opening.
Reflecting on the experience, a science teacher at Kunskapsskolan said: “It was a really wonderful experience. My colleagues and students enjoyed it thoroughly. As a science teacher I always taught my students about the Moon and everything, but observing them with telescopes for the first time was beautiful.”
The initiative is part of Skygaze India’s broader mission to democratize astronomy and make space science accessible to all. By bringing telescopes directly to schools, the organization is enabling students to not only learn science but to experience it as a source of wonder and discovery.
With programs spanning educational institutions, corporate wellness engagements, and astrotourism, Skygaze India continues to strengthen its role as a leader in experiential space science education. Events like the one at Kunskapsskolan International School highlight the transformative impact of hands-on astronomy, inspiring the next generation of curious minds to look up and explore beyond the horizon.
