What is a press release?

A press release is an official announcement from an organisation or a person, written in the third person and published so that customers, investors, journalists and the public can find it. Common reasons to publish one are a product or service launch, funding, a partnership, a new appointment, an award, a book release, an event or a milestone.

On India News Grid, your press release appears as a news page on indianewsgrid.com, under the Press Releases section, with your name or your organisation's name, a dateline, an "About" (boilerplate) section and your media contact.

What you get for ₹499 + GST

A permanent news page

Your press release gets its own URL on indianewsgrid.com. It stays online unless it is removed after a complaint or a breach of these guidelines.

Optimised for SEO

Every release is published with a search-friendly headline and summary, SEO tags and clean page structure.

Built for AI discovery

Structured data helps Google and AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity understand who you are and what you announced.

Your words, unchanged

India News Grid does not edit the body of your press release. We may adjust only the headline or the cover image during the publishing check.

Shared on our channels

We share your release on India News Grid's social media and include it in our newsletter.

One link to share

Use your page link with customers, investors and partners, in pitch decks, on your website and on your own social media.

India News Grid does not guarantee search ranking, AI citations, traffic or pickup by other publications. Results vary.

Launching soon, or just launched? Why publish your announcement here

When people hear about a new brand, product, startup or venture, the first thing most of them do is search for it. A press release on India News Grid gives that search something to find.

  • A third-party news record of your launch. Your announcement sits on a news website, not only on your own site or social media. That gives customers, investors and partners an independent page to see.
  • Something to show up for your brand name. New brands often have little or nothing online. A news page with your brand name in the headline gives search engines another page to show when someone looks you up.
  • Helps AI tools describe you correctly. When someone asks ChatGPT or Gemini about your brand, AI tools look for clear, structured sources. A press release in your own words, with your name, founders, date and what you launched, gives them one.
  • A dated record of what you launched and when. Useful when you approach investors, distributors, marketplaces, award juries, event organisers or the media.
  • A credible link to share. Add "As published on India News Grid" to your website, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, pitch deck or proposals.
  • Low cost while you are starting out. One announcement at ₹499 + GST, with no plan or commitment needed.

Good times to publish: the day you launch, when you open pre-orders or registrations, after your first funding or key partnership, when you win an award, and when you reach a milestone such as your first 1,000 customers.

Press release guidelines

Follow these so your release passes the publishing check the first time.

Format

  • Headline: clear and factual, describing the news.
  • Dateline: city and date, for example "New Delhi, 8 October 2026".
  • Lead paragraph: who, what, when, where and why in the first two or three sentences.
  • Body: details, figures, context and up to two quotes from named spokespeople.
  • Length: up to 1,500 words.
  • About (boilerplate): a short paragraph about your organisation, business or yourself.
  • Media contact: name, email and phone number of the person handling enquiries.
  • Images: up to 3 high-resolution images, including the cover image, that you own or are authorised to use for press distribution.
  • Links: up to 3 links (backlinks) to relevant pages.

Writing

  • Write in the third person ("The company announced…" or "Priya Sharma announced…", not "We announced…" or "I announced…").
  • Keep it factual. Avoid hype, superlatives and marketing jargon such as "best-in-class", "revolutionary" or "No. 1" unless you can back them up.
  • Focus on your own news. Do not criticise or make claims about competitors or other parties.
  • Links must work and point to pages relevant to the announcement.

Responsibility

You, or your organisation, are responsible for all facts, figures, names, quotes and images in the release. India News Grid does not verify claims made in press releases.

Not acceptedContent in a prohibited category will not be published, and the fee is not refundable. This includes:
Misleading, false or unverifiable claimsDefamatory content or attacks on other people or organisationsAdult content, gambling, betting or illegal products and servicesUnapproved financial schemes, guaranteed returns or investment tipsUnsupported medical or health-treatment claimsPolitical campaign materialContent that infringes copyright or trademarksHateful, graphic or unsafe material
Unique to India News GridThe text you submit must be original and must not be published word for word, or nearly so, on any other website, before or after it appears on India News Grid. A rewritten (paraphrased) version elsewhere is fine. This keeps your page unique, which matters for crawling, indexing and search visibility.
After publishingPublished press releases cannot be edited. Please check your release carefully before you submit it.

One news page or wide syndication: which do you need?

There are two different ways to publish a press release online, and they do different jobs.

Syndication compared with one original pageSyndication copies the same release to many sites, which search engines treat as duplicates. India News Grid publishes one unique page that search engines and AI tools index as the original source.Syndication / wireSame textMany identical copies: usually treatedas duplicates, often only one is shownSyndication compared with one original pageSyndication copies the same release to many sites, which search engines treat as duplicates. Syndication or wire distribution

Sends the same press release to many websites at once, sometimes hundreds. It suits you when:

  • you need the announcement in front of as many journalists and outlets as possible on the same day;
  • you are a listed company or a large brand making a market-wide announcement;
  • you want the chance of pickup by specific national or international media.

It usually costs considerably more. Because the same text appears on many websites, search engines typically treat the copies as duplicates and show only one or a few of them, so most copies add little for search on their own.

A single, original news page

What India News Grid offers: your release is published once, as a unique, permanent page on a news website. It suits you when:

  • you want a credible page that shows up when people search for your brand or announcement;
  • you want AI tools to have one clear, structured source to read and cite;
  • you are a startup, small business, institution, professional or creator who needs a news record without a large PR budget.

Search engines and AI tools tend to favour original, clearly structured pages over hundreds of identical copies. One well-built page can be found and cited more easily than the same text repeated across many low-traffic sites.

Your release on India News Grid must be uniqueThe version you publish with us must not appear word for word, or nearly so, on any other website, including wire services, other press release sites, blogs or your own website. You can publish a rewritten (paraphrased) version elsewhere, and share the link to your India News Grid page anywhere.

Why unique matters: when search engines and AI tools find the same text on many websites, they usually pick one copy to show and ignore the rest, and that copy may not be ours. A unique page is crawled and indexed as an original source in its own right, which gives your announcement the best chance of being found in search and cited by AI tools.

India News Grid does not syndicate or distribute your release to other publications.
